わたしも職場に長くいるにつれ、じぶんの良さをだせなくなったり、期待をされすぎてつらいと感じていた時期があります。
責任を感じていたわたしは、以前よりも周りに目をくばるようになり、一見してみれば期待に応えていたのかもしれません。
しかし、そのぶんストレスはたまり、発散することも出来ずにいました。
ただ、いま思えば当時は会社人間だったということです。
あなたには会社人間ではなく、仕事人間として真面目かつあなたのちからを発揮してもらいたいと思います。
それでは最後までよろしくおねがいします。
会社人間と仕事人間のちがい
会社人間は、保守的になる。
仕事人間は、挑戦的になる。
共通することは、真面目で責任をもって仕事に取り組む、そしてストレスを溜めるということです。
でも会社人間は、じぶんの保身のための責任感にかわり、立場やメンツを最優先にします。
なぜなら、ようやく得た立場を失いたくないからです。
真面目にじぶんの立場を守るようになるのです。
もともと仕事人間だったひとが、会社人間になってしまう流れは
- なにかの仕事に成功して、出世する
- 出世すると、周囲の目を気にするようになる
- ”いい仕事をする”から”ミスのない仕事をする”にかわる
よって、以前のような活躍を期待できなくなってしまうのです。
また保守的・受け身になることで、じぶんの良さをつぶしてしまいます。
出世しても会社人間にならず、仕事人間でいることこそ、じぶんらしく仕事をするコツなのです。
仕事人間でいるコツをつぎは紹介します。
コツ①開きなおる
あなたはあなたの実力以上のことはできません。
背伸びをし続けるのはつかれます。
開きなおると聞くと、あまりいい印象はないかもしれません。
しかし、開きなおることはわるいことではありません。
なぜなら、じぶんの実力をこえたパフォーマンスは発揮できないからです。
会社人間になると、じぶんを守るために必死になります。
そしてじぶんの実力をこえた仕事になり、部下の責任にしたり溜めこんで鬱になってしまいます。
もちろん”仕事のできる上司でいたい、部下でいたい”という気持ちは向上心として必要です。
ですが、無理は禁物です。
そこで仕事人間にもどるために、開きなおるのです。
開きなおることで、会社ではなく、じぶんの人生に責任をもつようになります。
仕事人間として”いい仕事をしたい”と誇りをもつようになります。
周りにどう見られてもじぶんはじぶんとなるので、だれかの言動に左右されなくなるのです。
開きなおることで、じぶん軸でいられるのです。
コツ②上手にあきらめる
真面目で、責任感のつよいあなたは、あきらめることが苦手ではないですか？
なのでコツの2つ目は、上手にあきらめることとしました。
たとえばこんなシーンを思い浮かべてください。
上司はあなたに、資料のコピーをとって欲しいと言ってきました。
なのであなたは、資料のコピーをとりはじめました。
しかし、少しインクが薄かったり、インクが伸びてしまって読みづらいと思い、何枚も何回もおなじ作業をくり返しています。
このシーンは真面目で責任感のあるひとが、なかなかあきらめられないシーンです。
わたしも、そのひとの求めている1番いいものを考えてしまうので、ちゃんとしたものができるまで気になってしまいます。
ただ1つ気づいたことがあります。
それは、どれだけ頑張ってもいまのじぶんのちからの限界であるということです。
なので完璧を目指すよりも、ある程度で妥協してさっさとあきらめる。
資料のコピーであれば、多少かすれていても読めればいいとあきらめる。
できないことはできないと認め、上手にあきらめるちからをつけると、ムダな時間を使わずにつぎのステップに早く進めます。
はやく成長すれば、いまはできないことが次はできるようになっているかもしれません。
つまり、いまはあきらめるけど、つぎはまた完璧に近づける。
そのくらいの意気込みでやっていきましょう。
